My Understanding
In other contexts I'd say that the first dictionary definition is indeed the most accurate. However, as of late considering the new world of the ADF and OBOD I find myself in I must revise and reconsider cultural assumptions and stereotypes. In this case I would say that piety is filial duty to the Kindreds, correct observance of ritual and traditions and proper hospitality to the Kindreds and others on this path.
